
Gene “Stephen” Siegwarth, 79, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. Stephen was born on Jan. 8, 1945, the son of the late Fred and Jean Siegwarth.
Stephen grew up in Second Ward, where he attended Monongalia County School, graduating in 1962. From there, he went on to attend WVU and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Steve worked as a commercial graphic artist for many years before becoming the art director for Sterling Faucet, Co. & Rockwell. He also became a graphic artist for WVU Television and Radio, achieving several national awards for excellence in art and set design. Later, Steve owned and operated his own graphic art business while also running a family-owned service station before accepting a position with the Monongalia County Assessor’s Office as a deputy assessor, where he worked for over 20 years.
He was a very loving husband and father. Stephen is survived by his wonderful wife of 49 years, Carla Siegwarth; and daughters Lisa (Elwood) Crawford, of Dinwiddie, Va., Lori (Matthew) Bartlett, of Bar Harbor, Maine, Nicole (Likin) Siegwarth-Simon, of Pittsford, N.Y., and Stacey Siegwarth, of Morgantown; his grandchildren Justin Bartlett, Jacob Busker, Kristin Bartlett, Zachary Crawford, Anna (Leon Sicard) Busker, Madeline Crawford, Jacob Crawford, Sofia Simon, Kaiden Crawford; great-grandson Leo Sicard; and his beloved cat Sidney.
In addition to his parents, Stephen is preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV 26505, from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, April 7. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508, at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 8, with Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati as celebrant. Interment to follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown.
