The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department paused Wednesday to honor Gary White, who is retiring this week after 35 years with the department.
White, who oversees security at both the Monongalia County Courthouse and the Monongalia County Justice Center, was on the job Wednesday keeping order at the Monongalia County Commission Meeting.
“I did want to say congratulations because there’s a person standing in the back of the room. He didn’t know I was going to do this,” Commission President Tom Bloom said at the close of the meeting. “You’ve seen a lot – 35 years of being a part of law enforcement in our county. On behalf of all three county commissioners, I want to say thank you very much.”
