The American Red Cross has a severe blood shortage. All blood types are needed, especially type O.
Donations are crucial to support patients’ ongoing medical needs and unforeseen emergencies, including those at WVU Medicine hospitals, especially as the number of trauma cases, organ transplants and elective surgeries rise.
More than a dozen blood drives are scheduled in Monongalia, Marion and Preston counties throughout the remainder of June and all through July.
All blood drives can be found at RedCrossBlood.org by using the search bar in the top right, and typing in the zip code or the sponsor code for the drive.
Upcoming blood drives include:
- Monday — 1-6 p.m. — American Legion Post 174 Auxiliary in Sabraton. Sponsor code: legion174.
- Wednesday — 10 a.m.-3 p.m. — Pizazz Dance Academy in Sabraton. Sponsor code: pizazz.
- June 28 — 1-6 p.m. — Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Sponsor code: cmamorgantown.
- June 29 — 10 a.m.-2 p.m. — Ford Lincoln of Morgantown at University Town Centre. Sponsor code: fordmorgantown.
- June 30 — 1:30-6 p.m. — WVU Erickson Alumni Center. Sponsored by the Mountaineer Mascot Program. Sponsor code: mountaineermascot.
