City launches new interactive map

Morgantown launched its new interactive zoning map, commonly used by property owners, realtors, developers and contractors, this week. The zoning map, developed by Morgantown’s GIS analyst Marvin Davis, allows people to find the zoning district, tax district and permitted uses for a parcel of land by just entering the address, according to Andrew Stacy, Morgantown’s communications manager. Broadband test pinpoints location off of phone app

KINGWOOD — Preston commissioners are urging everyone to take a new broadband speed test. Commissioner Don Smith, who is active on the Region VI Planning and Development Council broadband committee, said the new test is important. “The great thing about it is, unlike some of the other ones, this one ties to exactly where your location is at, so that a more accurate map can be given to the FCC [Federal Communications Commission],” Smith said. Husband files suit after fatal crash

A bulldozer being illegally transported on W.Va. 7 west of Morgantown contributed to the death of a woman in a multi-vehicle collision last September, according to a lawsuit filed this week. Damone Eddy, husband of the late Stephanie Eddy, and Allison Lippert, who was injured in the crash, filed the lawsuit in Monongalia County Circuit Court.
