MPD investigating after gun fired on Beverly Avenue

Morgantown Police are investigating after calls came in Sunday reporting shots had been fire in the 400 block of Beverly Avenue. The call came in at around 3:40 a.m. and resulted in a subsequent community warning by West Virginia University, alerting those in area. The alert said no one had been injured. When they arrived on scene, Morgantown Police officers spoke to several witnesses, who provided descriptions of the suspect as well as video footage of the incident. BY CARRIE HODOUSEK CHARESTON — A former Chapmanville police officer charged in connection with the disappearance of a K-9 officer is back in West Virginia. Marcus Dudley, 26, was booked into the South Central Regional Jail without bond Thursday evening. Dudley, formerly of South Charleston, was arrested Aug. 15 in Henry County, Ga., after failing to appear twice for his arraignment earlier this month in Kanawha County Circuit Court.
