Registration deadline is Tuesday for MAA’s October watercolor workshop

Morgantown Art Association will conduct a watercolor workshop from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 3-6 at the gallery  next to Animal Friends Thrift Shoppe at the Mountaineer Mall on Green Bag Road.  The deadline for registration is Tuesday.  Nationally known painter Mick McAndrews will be the instructor.  Seating is limited, but there are still a few openings. Charity Partner Program kicks off at Old Stone House

Service League of Morgantown is kicking off the 17th year of its Charity Partner Program this week.  The program encourages people to shop at the Old Stone House Gift Shop now through the end of the year and again for 11 days in January. ‘Afraid’ feels too timid to really qualify as horror

Earlier this year, there was some controversy around the film “Late Night with the Devil” over its use of generative AI in some of the art in the movie. Teachers are struggling with students using AI to write essays. There are more convincing deep fakes, making it harder to know what is true and what is false in the news. Music Under the Stars with the Wheeling Symphony set to return Sunday

Dr. Brian H. Huggins hit the ground running when he joined Monongalia County Health Department as the incoming health officer on April 1.  The health department has been undergoing a strategic plan process and  Huggins stepped up to lead two town halls only six weeks after starting his new position.  Huggins was seeing patients on days when retiring health officer Dr. Lee B.
