Steep Valley Fire in NRG National Park and Preserve crosses 2,000 acres

BY CHRIS LAWRENCE GLEN JEAN — The forest fire burning within the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve has now topped 2,000 acres. National Park Service officials say the Steep Mountain Fire is now at 2,028 acres and is 70% contained. Battle of the Bartenders: Holiday Edition set for Nov. 30

Monongalia County Child Advocacy Center (MCCAC) will host a fundraising event, Battle of the Bartenders: Holiday Edition, from 5-8:30 p.m. Nov. 30 at Keglers. The center advocates for children who have been abused or encountered other significant adverse childhood experiences in Monongalia County. It provides a collaborative and child-friendly environment where children and their families can be interviewed, educated and healed.
