W.Va. retailers report increase in in-person shopping this holiday season

BY CARRIE HODOUSEK CHARLESTON — More people are shopping in-person this holiday season compared to last year, according to the West Virginia Retailers Association. President Bridget Lambert said they’re anticipating an increase of more than 20 million shoppers during Super Saturday, the biggest shopping day before Christmas Day, at stores across the nation. “When that last occurred in 2017, we saw 126 million shoppers participate all across the nation. DAR honors veterans, places wreaths on graves

KINGWOOD — For the third year, members of the Cheat River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) placed wreaths on the graves of veterans on National Wreaths Across America Day. DAR member Karen Kurilko said the first year wreaths were placed in Maplewood Cemetery, the second year in the Aurora Cemetery, and this year, she said 336 were placed in Maplewood and 226 in the Aurora Cemetery. WV Parks leaders tell lawmakers venture paying off
