Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division continues to investigate the theft and destruction of multiple Flock Safety Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) camera systems that occurred on or about June 26, 2026.
On July 16, 2026, detectives arrested Wesley N. Jackson, of Gerrardstown, West Virginia, for his alleged involvement in the incident. Jackson has been charged with Damage, Destruction, or Theft of Equipment Used by Emergency Responders (W. Va. Code § 61-3-60), a felony, and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony (W. Va. Code § 61-10-31), also a felony.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to thoroughly investigating these incidents and will fully pursue criminal charges against those responsible permitted by law. Additional arrests are expected.
