A spokesperson for the Kingwood Detachment of the West Virginia State Police said investigations are ongoing in the officer-involved fatal shooting that occurred July 10 in the Irona area.
Joshua Tyler Roberts, 33, was shot by two troopers after he refused repeated requests to drop a gun he had raised toward them. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the West Virginia State Police, Roberts had threatened a neighbor with a machete prior to the incident.
Terra Alta Ambulance responded to the scene.
