Worker alleges negligence by business following robbery

KINGWOOD — A woman who was beaten during a robbery at Becky’s  last year is suing the business owner  and the building owner, saying they failed to provide adequate security measures. Trina Michelle Kelly filed suit in Preston Circuit Court against Preston LLC — doing business as Becky’s 1 — Dale Davis and John Casalinova. Davis is listed as the managing member and owner of the company and Casalinova as the owner of the Masontown building that houses Becky’s Hot Spot. Uber rape case won’t go before third jury

The case against Ibrahim Hamid, accused of sexually assaulting a woman after he gave her a ride home, will not go to trial for a third time. “This is not a win for the defendant,” Monongalia County Prosecutor Perri DeChristopher wrote. “It is a loss for us all.” The 4-page notice of the State’s intention, written by DeChristopher, lays out the reasons the State requested dismissal. MORGANTOWN — An attorney representing the Harrison County school administrator accused of harassing a transgender student has asked the Board of Education to reconsider its decision to not renew the administrator’s contract, based on information not previously made public.
