West Run Road closed this week

West Run Road, near Point Marion Road, will be closed due to drilling Monday through Friday, according to Monongalia County Sheriff Perry Palmer. The road will be closed from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. each day this week, he said. A deputy will be posted on either end of the closure. Triad Engineering will be doing core drilling to take samples for a West Virginia Division of Highways study, according to its drilling engineer John Haynes. Trump’s plan to cut SNAP benefits could harm thousands

More than 3,400 households in Monongalia County could lose government assistance for basic food needs if a government plan to curtail the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP for short, moves forward.
