Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia Inc. (YCF) is accepting scholarship applications for the 2023-24 academic year. YCF oversees more than 40 scholarship funds primarily to benefit students in north-central West Virginia. Some scholarships are designated for graduating seniors of specified schools or those who live in particular counties. Delegates debated over an amendment that would have prevented removing students from public schools to home-school environments if there is a pending child abuse or neglect investigation. The amendment also would have applied in cases where the parent or a home-school teacher has been convicted of domestic violence, child abuse or neglect.
