Robert Franklin Cozad, Jr., 65, of Granville, passed away in his home Thursday, May 14, 2026. He was born January 8, 1961, in Philippi.
Robert proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
He worked for 20 years as a security officer at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and target shooting, where he was known for his remarkable accuracy and even received commendations for his skill during his military service. He was also an exceptional pool player and loved riding his motorcycle. Above all else, Robert cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in- law, Robert Cozad III and wife Daisy, and Christopher Cozad and wife Angela; his beloved grandchildren, Alexis Faith, Melody Rose, Landon James, Lydia Paige, Aubrey Jean, Natalie Grace, Christopher Aaron, Jr., and Robert Franklin IV; and his sisters, Pamela Craig and husband Paul, and Helena Bunnell and husband Adam.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Cozad; his adoptive parents, Robert and Marjorie Wolfe Cozad; his biological parents, Lovel and Helen McKinney Cozad Wiles; and his brothers, Robert Wayne Wiles and Darrell “Buster” Wiles.
Family and friends are invited to gather in Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Thursday, May 21, from 4 to 7 p.m., and again on Friday, May 22, from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Bob Sisler officiating. Following the service, Robert will be laid to rest beside his wife at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
