Doris Jeanne Faini, 96, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, in Morgantown, WV.
Jeanne was born Dec. 21, 1929, in Masontown, PA, a daughter of Aldino and Josephine DeMarchi Netchi.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of almost 70 years, Philip J. Faini; her daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Tim Saab; and her brother, Ron Netchi.
Following high-school graduation, Jeanne worked as a bookkeeper for a car dealership. She married Phil Faini in 1953, and they immediately moved to San Antonio, TX, while Phil was in the Army Band. They moved to Keyser, WV, and lived there for two years before settling in Morgantown in 1961. Jeanne worked on her college education for 10 years while she was a busy mother of three. She earned a degree in Library Science from WVU in 1974 and worked as the Librarian for St. Francis High School for 10 years. Jeanne wanted to have a big family and considered her greatest achievement as being mother to her three children, and ‘Nonni’ to her 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a private person who preferred to provide support behind the scenes, taking care of the family.
Jeanne cherished her family and extended family, largely from Southwestern PA. She was a devoted wife and mother and a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. She served in Catholic Daughters and the Altar Linen Ministry, was a lifetime member of the Morgantown Service League, and a Charter member of P.E.O. Chapter W. Jeanne also served as the President of the Morgantown Serra Club, an organization that fosters vocations to the priesthood. She was an expert card player and a member of various bridge clubs for years. A well-organized and physically active woman, Jeanne had loyal friends, great cooking skills, an infectious laugh, and a good sense of humor.
Jeanne is survived by her son John (Shaney) Faini, her daughter Dina (Dominic) Muttillo; 11 grandchildren, Regina (Matt) Scott, Dr. Maria Faini, Tony (Jenelle) Faini, David Saab, Joseph (Lindsey) Faini, Christine (Mike) Gardner, Steven (Madison) Saab, Dr. Nico (Emily) Muttillo, Giulia Muttillo, Angelina (Daniel) D’Angelo, Isabella Muttillo; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Maria McIntire and Virginia Netchi.
