Robin Lee Montgomery, 70, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born September 10, 1955, in Indiana, Pa., to Robert and Viola Stahlman Isenberg, who preceded her in death.
Robin carried the values of kindness, loyalty, and hard work throughout her life, and those who knew her best will remember her as a loving woman, whose gentle spirit touched many hearts.
Robin spent her early working years at the Indiana Gazette from 1973 to 1975, where she served as a receptionist and special recorder and earned recognition for her work. She later devoted herself to her home and family as a housewife from 1975 to 1985. Her career continued with meaningful service as secretary of First Christian Church for one year, followed by nine years at WVU Health and Human Resources in Allen Hall. She then dedicated 30 years of faithful service to the CDC NIOSH Office of the Director, where her professionalism and steady presence were deeply valued.
Robin was also a member of the Indiana PA Moose #174 and was active with PTO North Elementary from 1981 to 1987.
Family was the center of Robin’s life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Robert Montgomery.
She is survived by her daughter, April Michelle Powell and her husband, Jason, of Mannington; her son, Nathan Michael Montgomery and his wife, Mary, of Fairmont; her sister, Diana Heasley and her husband, Jim; and her brother, Robert “Bob” Isenberg.
She was also preceded in death by her sister-in- law, Robin Isenberg.
Robin leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Lillie, Nicholas and Clara Powell, as well as Morgan, Madelyn, and Mitchell Montgomery, who brought great joy to her life.
She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Kenneth Montgomery and Timothy Montgomery and his wife, Debbie; along with her sisters-in-law, Janet Kramer and her husband, Tim, and Vicki Williams and her husband, Dan.
She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Dorothy Rose McCormick; as well as her brother-in-law, Jacob Montgomery.
Robin’s life was enriched by the simple pleasures she loved so dearly. She enjoyed crafts and crocheting, and she especially loved collecting bears. She found comfort and enjoyment in reading, spending time with her family and friends, and being with her family pets. She also enjoyed watching crime shows, game shows, and movies, which brought her many hours of relaxation and entertainment.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made, in Robin’s name, to the Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
