WVU football earns wide receiver commitment for 2027

West Virginia football is starting to add up commits.  2027 wide receiver Roscoe Hayes announced he’s committed to the Mountaineers on social media. Hayes is the second commitment for WVU’s 2027 class.

The Atlanta, Georgia, native isn’t rated on 247Sports, but received multiple offers from Power Four schools. He received interest from Kentucky, Kansas State, NC State, Cincinnati and various others.

Hayes is a big receiver for the Mountaineers in the coming years. He’s listed at 6-foot-6, 183 pounds, according to his social media. Rich Rodriguez has wanted bigger receivers and made a point of emphasis last recruiting cycle to add a couple of bigger targets.

“We want to get faster, bigger, right?” Rodriguez said. “And we did.”

Hayes has had production in basketball and football. On the field, Hayes had 47 catches for 646 yards and six scores as a junior. On the court, Hayes averages 6.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, using his 6-foot-6 stature.

Hayes was recruited by wide receiver coach Ryan Garrett. He is the second recruit of the class to currently be committed, alongside defensive lineman DaJour Webb. There were two more, but they’ve both decommitted.
