Paul A. Bierer, 68, of Dilliner, Pa., passed away at his home on Monday, March 2, 2026, following a lengthy illness. Born in Waynesburg on March 1, 1958, he was the son of Barbara Holbert Yatsko Bierer and Eugene Bierer.
A 1976 graduate of Mapletown High School, Paul worked for Swanson Plating in Morgantown, retiring after 34 years as general manger of their Indiana, Pa. plant. He also owned and operated Bierer Trucking in Dilliner for 17 years.
Surviving is his wife, Rebecca (Monk) Bierer; one son, Owen Bierer and wife Daisay of Dilliner; and he was the beloved “Pappy” to his three grandchildren, Ryker, Lyla and Colter. Also surviving is his sister, Leslie Namet (Chuck) of Dilliner; two uncles, with whom he was raised and thought of as his brothers, Bill and Bob Holbert; several nieces and nephews, a number of cousins, and his best friend, John Kuis.
Also deceased are two daughters, Sarah Bierer in infancy, and Shannon Bierer on Feb. 6, 2023, and his birth father, Paul “Cookie” Yatsko in 1957.
The family will receive friends in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Saturday from 10 until the 11 a.m. hour of service, with Rev. French Jenkins officiating. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
