Brian Jared Sites, 39, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 in WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 7, 1986 in Elkins, the son of Tom Sites of Franklin, and Melissa Mae Teter Adams (Kirk) of Headwaters, Va.
On December 10, 2022, Brian married the love of his life, Courtney Dawn Brown Sites, who survives in Morgantown.
Mr. Sites graduated from Pendleton County High School in 2004 and Hobart Institute of Welding Technology in Troy, Ohio.
Brian was a pipefitter and welder for UA Local 152 Plumbers and Pipefitters as well as a welding instructor.
He served his community as a volunteer fireman for Franklin Volunteer Fire Department and Mount Morris Volunteer Fire Company.
Brian was passionate about the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, fishing with his wife, family and friends on the Great Lakes, and as a beekeeper, taking care of his many beehives.
Brian touched many lives while he was with us and his legacy of service to community and love for his family will live on through his son and all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, Brian leaves behind to cherish his memory an infant son, Jared Beckett Sites; a brother, Thomas John Sites of Franklin; a stepbrother, Kyle Adams of California; a stepsister, Amanda Adams of Maryland; maternal grandmother, Rebecca Teter of Onego; a brother-in-law, Charles Patrick Brown (Valerie) of Arthurdale; and everyone who called him Uncle B: nieces and nephews Wyatt, Eli, Lucy, Saylor, Marleigh, Reagan and Dillon.
He was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Garrett Adams; in-laws, Lewis Charles Brown and Susan Eileen Decker Brown; paternal grandparents, John and Sue Sites; and maternal grandfather, Randolph Malcom Teter.
Brian’s family will receive friends and family Saturday, November 29, from 12 to 2 p.m., in the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church, Mt. Morris, Pa. followed by A Celebration of Life at 2 p.m.
A second service will be held in Brian’s hometown of Franklin Sunday, November 30, from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin, with a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Sam Harper will officiate both services.
