Monsel Herron

Monsel Byron Herron, 74, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at his home. Monsel was born on Jan. 16, 1948, in Fairmont, a son of the late Byron and Retha Shelton Herron. Monsel was a devoted family man. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was an underground coal miner for 39 years, retiring from the Cumberland Mine. He was also a proud member of the UMWA Local 2300, where he served terms as the union president and vice president. He enjoyed collecting coal mining stickers, baseball cards, and silver coins. Walter Marion Burns, 85, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022. Walter was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Morgantown a son of the late Walter William and Gale Burns. Walter was a retired supervisor with the West Virginia Division of Highways with 37 years of service. He was a member of the Moose, Westover VFW and the American Legion. Michael D. Wilson, 63, of Morgantown, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022. He was born on March 11, 1959, in Frankfurt, Germany, the son of the late George “Bill” and Betty Wilson. He graduated from Morgantown High School class of 1977 and from WVU in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in businessadministration.
