Senate panel OKs county sales tax bill; and bill to reorganize state emergency management, demolish abandoned structures

CHARLESTON — Senate Government Organization on Thursday approved a bill to allow counties to impose a 1 percent sales tax and another to reorganize management of state emergency planning and response services.
