Preston native serves aboard U.S. Navy floating airport

NORFOLK, Va. — Petty Officer 2nd Class Mandi Daigle, a native of Terra Alta, is one of more than 5,000 sailors serving aboard the self-contained mobile airport, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Daigle attended Preston High School. On Monday, Mindy Salango, chair of the Monongalia County Democratic Executive Committee, resigned her role as chair. The committee announced the resignation Friday and said it will elect several new leaders at the Nov. 13 meeting. Sewer board to replace 46 grinder pumps

KINGWOOD — Prior to its monthly meeting, the Kingwood Sewer Board held a special meeting concerning the replacement of 46 grinder pumps with gravity flow systems. No members of the public attended. Matt Flueharty, an engineer from Civil & Environmental Consultants (CEC), said the project would allow the city to pick up 46 new customers.
