The hospitals of Mon Health recognize the meaning of organ donation and the life-saving difference it makes with awareness events throughout the month. On Tuesday, Mon Health Hospitals held flag-raisings, including at Mon Health Medical Center, Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital, Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Grafton City Hospital, an affiliate of Mon Health. BY DAVE WILSON West Virginia lawmakers are working on a plan they hope can provide some long-term stability for emergency medical services agencies struggling to keep their operations running. DHHR confirms pediatric flu death

CHARLESTON — The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Bureau for Public Health confirmed an influenza-associated pediatric death for the 2021-22 flu season. The last influenza-associated pediatric death was reported during the 2019-20 flu season. While adult flu deaths are not required to be reported, influenza-associated deaths of children under 18 are required to be reported to the local health department within one week, which in turn is reportable to the state.
