YCF awards nearly $300,000 in Scholarships for 2024-25 academic year

Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia Inc. (YCF) awarded 106 scholarships totaling $293,900 for the 2024-2025 academic year.  Applications were evaluated by scholarship committees with over 100 volunteers from across north-central West Virginia.  YCF currently manages over 40 scholarship funds. New scholarship endowments may be established with a minimum donation of $20,000, which donors may pledge over three years. HEPC approves measure to double state needs-grant for eligible students

SOUTH CHARLESTON — The state Higher Education Policy Commission approved a doubling of the maximum award for the West Virginia Higher Education Grant at the commission’s meeting Friday held in South Charleston. The maximum award for the needs-based grant goes from $3,400 to $6,800. State Higher Education Chancellor Dr. Sarah Armstrong Tucker said the increase was made possible by Gov.
