KINGWOOD — A Terra Alta woman pleaded no contest to child neglect after someone reported her 5-year-old was walking along the highway alone.Sabrina Lee Greaser, 40, was ordered to pay a total of $465.50 in fines and court costs for charges of misdemeanor child neglect and providing false information to a trooper.According to the criminal complaint by State Police Trooper J.L. KINGWOOD — A Masontown man is charged with shooting at a car that held a woman and their two children.Kevin James McGinnis, 34, denied the accusation, according to a criminal complaint by State Police Trooper C.E. Smith. Deputies with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting an underage girl early Tuesday morning.Caleb Wiley, 33, is charged with sexual assault by a parent, guardian or custodian.The victim called 911 at about 2:10 a.m. and said Wiley sexually assaulted her just before she called, according to Sheriff Perry Palmer.Deputies went to Viewcrest Village, off Scotts Run Road, and after an investigation, arrested Wiley, Palmer said.The victim, whose age isn’t being released at this time, had been staying with Wiley for about a week and is ...

Switched at birth: Catholic diocese sued for giving babies to wrong families in 1942

A lawsuit against the Catholic Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston claims two boys born at St. Joseph Hospital in Buckhannon in 1942 were switched at birth. The diocese does not comment on pending litigation, according to Tim Bishop, public information officer. John William Car III and Jackie Lee Spencer were both born on Aug. 29, 1942, and were sent home with each other’s families because of negligence and breach of duty by the obstetrical or nursing staff at the hospital, according to the suit. A Morgantown man is charged with wanton endangerment after he allegedly fired a gun during a burglary. Westover Police responded to a burglary in progress with shots fired on East Street on Friday, according to a criminal complaint for Jerrid Ray Weaver, 24. A man who turned himself in to Monongalia County law enforcement for a Grafton murder was living with his victim.That’s according to Taylor County Sheriff Terry Austin.Nicholas C.
