Ken Godwin: A song in lots of hearts
Hey, kid, no pressure: but there’s the spotlight, and it’s time for your big number, so get out there and show ‘em how it’s done. That’s how it worked for Ken Godwin, the West Virginia music educator who died earlier this spring at the age of 80. A memorial service is set for 4 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church on Spruce Street. For nearly of those 60 years, basically the whole of his life, Godwin taught the region to sing.
