Knoebels is a great starter amusement park for young kids

With summer in full swing, we are making day trips and little weekend trips with our family to make this a fun-filled summer for the kids.   My kiddos are 6 and almost 2 years old, so they are starting to  enjoy amusement parks and rides.   This week, we are taking the them to Knoebels in Elysburg, Pa.  This is the perfect little starter amusement park, in my opinion. Dave Wilson and WAJR took their “Talk of the Town” radio show on the road Wednesday.  The daily talk news show was broadcast live from Morgantown’s Metropolitan Theatre for the 100th anniversary of the theater, which  opened July 24, 1924.  Broadcasting from the stage, Wilson talked with Met manager Joe Kaehler about the history of the Met, including the initiative to reopen it and refurbish it so it could be used again.  Kaehler said the renovations include high-tech sound and light systems, but the personality of the historic theater is still ...

Preston County Antique Tractor and Machinery Show to be held this weekend

The Preston County Antique Tractor and Machinery Association will host a show Saturday and Sunday at   the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department. Gates will open at 7 a.m.   There will be toys, flea market items, old coins and currency, ice cream, home baked goods, crafts, antiques, tools and food for sale.  There will be a live auction at 6 pm.
