MAC to host butterfly art show on Saturday

Monongalia Arts Center, 107 High St., will host Monarchs @ Mon Arts from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. This free event is for all ages and will feature a Monarch butterfly art show, hands-on art activities, a selfie station and face-painting. Participants can also learn how to plant a pollinator garden. Morgantown is the first city in West Virginia to be named a member of Monarch City USA. Black Heritage fest set for Sept. 9-11 in Clarksburg

The West Virginia Black Heritage Festival is planned for Sept. 9-11 in Clarksburg. Festivities include a Youth Block Party, the Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament, a basketball Free Shot contest, concerts and worship service. The block party will kick off activities at 5 p.m. Sept. 9 at Jackson Square, Pike Street. This is free and open to the public.
