Wolves infected with parasite become pack leaders

When I read that wolves that had a parasite had a much higher chance of becoming the leader of the wolf pack, I was astounded.  A parasite affected the behavior of a mammal. How could that happen? I found it all rather interesting, and I think you will, too.
