Loretta Ida Pearl Burke, 90, of Reedsville, WV, peacefully passed away Monday, October 26, 2026, at home with family by her side.
She was born in Terra Alta, WV on November 21, 1935, a daughter of the late Asa and Beulah (Teets) Sypolt.
Loretta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labor. Above all, Loretta loved spending time with her family and her extended church family.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen Shannon and husband John of Grafton, Sally Tice and husband Joel of Arthurdale and Jill Phillips of Georgetown, KY; her daughter-in-law, Darlene Marsh of Jane Lew, WV; 14 grandchildren, Mark, Sarah, Steven, Jonathan, Anthony, Cody, Alexis, Jared, Tanya, Tiffany, Rachel, Josiah, Levi and Zane; 14 great grandchildren, Caleb, Sophie, Aaden, Ashton, Landyn, Collin, Bryce, Chloe, Caroline, Arya, Mariella, Gideon, Naomi and Gladys; one sister, Pauline Gilbert of York, PA and one brother, Stanley Sypolt of Kingwood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, William "Jerry" Burke; her cherished son, Jerald William "Jerry" Burke; one sister, Leona Hyre, and five brothers, McKinley, Willard, Elwood, Dana, and Melvin Sypolt.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 2 to 8 pm and Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 10 am until the 11 am time of service with Pastor Joel Tice and Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Arthurdale Cemetery.
