Edman E. Rice, 92, of Fairmont, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. He was born on August 8, 1934, in Morgantown, WV the son of the late Howard and Goldie (Fluharty) Rice.
Edman graduated from University High and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. Edman worked as a postal worker and a school bus driver in Morgantown, WV but his passion was his ministry. Edman was a brethren pastor in Morgantown, Fairmont and surrounding areas and loved to share Jesus with others. He enjoyed his horses, picnics, riding his motorcycle and doing everything he could with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Katherine (Moore) Rice, children Terry (Karen) Rice, Rhonda (Edward) Southern, Edward (Belinda) Rice, step daughter Betty Lamar, grandchildren: Kevin (Samantha) Rice, Kimmy Sue Rice, Stephanie Southern, Jennifer Travelstead, Tiffany (Josh) Davis, Tyler (Summer) Rice, Travis Rice, Hannah (Seth) Jeffries, Kelly (Bobby) Teets, Tammy (Robbie) Davis, Holly (Donny) Kisner, Lacey (Kyle) Orchard, Tristin (Devin) Rossiter, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, brothers Cecil (Connie) Rice, Robert Rice, sister Sue (Duane) McCarty and several nieces and nephews.
Edman was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Shirley Ann (Harrington) Rice, brother Harry Rice, step grandson Declan Thomas Kerr, grandson in law Josh Travelstead, stepson Paul Joseph Groah and sister-in-law Betty Rice.
Family and friends may call at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, West Virginia, on Sunday, October 11th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and at the Victory Baptist Church, 1875 Morgantown Ave, Fairmont, West Virginia on Monday, October 12th from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Pastor Nathan Barker will officiate the service and interment will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens with full military rites performed by the United States Navy and the Marion County Honor Guard.
