‘What’s Blooming’ compiled in book

2 min read

The "What's Blooming at the WVBG" series has concluded its six-year run with the goal of informing mountaineers of the beauty of nature and to drive interest in the WVBG and all the blooms that one might encounter on a visit to West Virginia's only public garden (and, recently voted best nonprofit by the WV Tourism Board).

In the first two seasons, the What's Blooming series ran weekly in the Dominion Post. That effort not only drove interest in what a visitor sees, but when compiled into a single volume, can give gardeners an idea of what to plant and nurture to ensure blooms throughout the season. As you read through "The Blooms of Appalachia," you are treated with not only the text of each submission to the Dominion Post, but also all of the images of the subject matter that were captured for each week.

"I compiled ‘The Blooms of Appalachia’ as a record of what can be seen through the season,” author David P. Davis said, “and it has become a great reference for my personal gardening endeavors to ensure pollinators have the pollen and nectar to thrive from spring to fall."

See for yourself! "The Blooms of Appalachia" is now available on Amazon, Kindle and at the WVBG's Visitor's Center store! All proceeds will support the WVBG.
