Harold James Williams

Harold James "Jim" Williams, M.D., age 73, of Morgantown, West Virginia passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026. He was born May 15, 1953 to the late Harold and Rita Mary (Eberling) Williams. He grew up alongside his five sisters.

Jim loved the Lord, and was a devoted member of his church, Calvary Chapel Morgantown. He found great joy in serving others on Sundays, and participating in medical mission trips.

He was proud to serve his country, dedicating eight years to the US Navy, and four years to the US Army. He graduated from Ole Miss Medical School, and trained at Bethesda Naval Hospital. He worked for WVU Medicine at Ruby Memorial Hospital for 23 years. He will be remembered as a prominent Pathologist who was passionate about his field. He was a mentor to many students he cared for dearly. He often said, "If God made anything better than Pathology, He kept it to himself."

In his free time, he enjoyed playing basketball, spending time with family, and cheering on his favorite sports teams--the Denver Broncos, and the West Virginia Mountaineers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Carol Williams; children, Rita Rosselli, Beverly (Craig) Reed, Robert (Vita) Leonhard, Heidianne (Chris) Tichnell, Samuel (Haley) Leonhard, Molly (Austin) Shover, and Joseph Leonhard; and siblings, Annie Edwards, Debbie Ribnikar, and Rita Wright. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and colleagues who were all dear to him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, June Becerra, and Bobbie Graham; and brother-in-law, Mike Wright, Bud Edwards, and David Graham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Chapel Morgantown, 493 Tyrone Rd., Morgantown, WV 26508.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Sunday, October 4th from 2-5 PM. A funeral service will take place at Calvary Chapel Morgantown, 493 Tyrone Rd., Morgantown on Monday, October 5th at 6:00 PM with Pastor Shawn Frasher officiating. The family asks that those in attendance wear blue and gold. A private family committal service will take place at a later time at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
