William "Sonny" B. Shifflett, 79, of Masontown, WV, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Mon Health Medical Center, Morgantown, WV.
He was born on October 13, 1946, in Laurel, MD, a son of the late Vernon Grover Shifflett and Mary Catherine Collier Shifflett. Sonny proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He is very loved and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Doris Jean McMillion Shifflett; daughter, Monica Ann Shifflett; three sisters, Mary Ann Shifflett Taylor, Carroll Gene Shifflett, and Sandra Kay Shifflett; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Sonny is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Ray Shifflett.
To honor his wishes, there will be no public services and Sonny will be cremated. The Field Funeral Home of Masontown, WV, will provide compassionate and professional cremation services.
