ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Teets looks to make an impact as a senior at Grove City College

MORGANTOWN - To Levi Teets, being a senior is special.
"Being a senior does feel different then any other year," said Teets, a defensive back at Grove City (Pa.) College, who starred at Trinity Christian in his high school days. "I just want to pour into the younger guys as much as I can."
Grove City began the season with two losses against ranked foes. The Wolverines lost, 28-18, against No. 23 Cortland and also fell to No. 7 Mount Union, 21-17.
"I'm very excited for this season," Teets said. "I just want to do everything I can to help my team compete for a PAC championship."
As a junior last year, he appeared in 10 games, with 28 total tackles. He recovered a fumble as well as intercepted a pass against Allegheny, which helped the team get its third straight win.
"Anytime you're able to make a big impact play it is so special, but one of the best things about making a big play is just getting to go over to the sideline and celebrate with all the guys," Teets said.
He played in five games as a sophomore, including a big interception at the goal line against Allegheny. He played as reserve cornerback as a freshman.
"Freshman year was definitely an adapting year," Teets said. "Anytime you go from high school to college it takes time to get used to all the changes, but by my sophomore year, I really felt as though I grew a lot. Sophomore year was also my first time being able to make an impact on the team so that was great getting to see some of the fruits of all the hard work."
The Wolverines have had great success during his time there, making it to three straight playoff appearances and two conference championships.
"It is an incredible experience to be able to be part of such an amazing team," he said. "Getting to be on a team that has been ranked for most of my career and even inside the top ten at times is a very unique opportunity."
A 2023 graduate of Trinity Christian, Teets became the first football player in school history to play collegiately. He was selected all-Conference every year in both the OVAC and Mason-Dixon conferences. He was also selected Class A second-team All-State both his junior and senior seasons.
"The biggest accomplishment from my high school career is just that we were able to create a team after not having one for around 20 years and then be able to compete and even make the playoffs one year," he said.
Because of COVID, TCS only played 34 games during the four years Teets attended. That didn't stop him. He scored 53 touchdowns, while amassing 4,118 all-purpose yards including 2,168 rushing and 1,105 receiving.
"COVID was a crazy time," he said. "I remember every day having to look at the map to see if we'd be able to play a game that week or not. I am just thankful that we were able to have a season at all. I of course wish we would've been able to play a full season, but I honestly wouldn't change how anything went in my high school career."
With only 15 players on the roster, he played nearly every snap on offense, defense, and special teams for the Warriors. But at Grove City College, the roster has over 100.
"That was definitely one of the biggest adjustments I had to make," Teets said. "There are more people on our team than there were people in the whole high school at Trinity. It took adjusting too, but it is honestly great being able to focus on one specific aspect and not have to worry about doing it all."
