The Dominion Post announces a new initiative to bring more news to its readers about nature, outdoors and activities in West Virginia, in an effort to drive interest in the natural offerings of the state and Appalachian region. NatureWV correspondent David P. Davis has risen to the challenge of this mission.
You might know David from his submissions for the West Virginia Botanic Garden titled "What's Blooming at the WVBG?" David, with editorial help from staff, has been submitting "What's Blooming" articles for the past six seasons, and, after a career shift, is ready for an additional assignment.
With a love of nature, entomology, gardening and photography, David will draw on his diverse background in developing NatureWV stories. David considers himself a scientist first, nature lover second. With degrees in animal sciences, entomology and agriculture, David has forgotten more than most. And, as a property owner in Preston County since the 1980s, he knows just how much nature and beauty West Virginia has to offer.
In West Virginia, there is always something more to know and see. David's goal will be to reach all corners of West Virginia and develop stories for the Dominion Post that educate readers on the work that many organizations are doing to protect nature and the environment.
Let's see where his journeys take us!
