Mon County Schools temporarily changing student drop-offs near Cheat Lake

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office issued the following statement Tuesday afternoon:

Out of an abundance of caution following an incident in the Cheat Lake community not involving any area schools, Monongalia County school buses will temporarily hold student drop-offs in the area spanning from Ices Ferry Bridge to the entrance of Lakeview Road to include Mont Chateau Road.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office is working in close coordination with Monongalia County Board of Education administrators to manage bus routes and ensure student safety. Arrangements can be made with individual schools to pick up students.
