Amy Harshbarger Gove, 57, of Princeton, Mass., passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Born May 21, 1969, in Fargo, N.D., Amy grew up in Morgantown. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1987 and went on to attend West Liberty College.
Amy was deeply involved in her community and gave her time to organizations that were meaningful to her. She served as treasurer of the Friends of the Princeton Library for 14 years and was a past member of the Worcester Garden Club. She was also a member of the Pine Hill Club in Princeton and served as director of its Social Committee.
Those who knew Amy best will remember her for the joy she brought to others. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel important. She always brought a smile into a room. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Amy found joy in the simple things in life. She was an avid flower gardener, a passionate cook and entertainer, and happiest when gathering family and friends around the table. When Amy entertained, everyone anticipated her culinary delights. She was a devoted dog lover and loved time spent in Chatham, Mass., coastal Maine and Vermont.
Amy is survived by her husband, Nathaniel S. Gove; son, Tucker S. Gove; and daughter, Bethany L. Gove, all of Princeton; her brother, David E. Harshbarger of Morgantown; and stepfather, Terry T. Jones of Morgantown.
She was predeceased by her mother, Emily Martin Jones, and her father, Dwight D. Harshbarger, both of Morgantown.
A celebration of Amy's life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29, in the Princeton First Congregational Church, 14 Mountain Road, Princeton; please wear colorful clothes.
