Q: I am getting more headaches lately, and i think I'm more light sensitive too, both with fluorescent and natural light. Could this be related?
A: Headaches can have many causes, sometimes never truly diagnosed, but a common type are called "light sensitive migraines.” These are seldom noted upon waking but develop during the day, whether outdoors or at work.
Studies found that certain wavelengths of light can trigger these. Avulux is a filter lens we prescribe for such cases. If you have more than five a month, we recommend wearing these special eyewear lenses all the time. If yours are less frequent, you might wear them only when you feel the headache beginning, or have filters made as a clip on for your regular glasses.
Just now they offer two new versions. One is photochromic, meaning they automatically darken in sunlight to provide excellent sunglasses protection for your eyes, too. The second is polarized so they are more like true sunglasses... always dark and able to block out all reflected glare, giving you sharper driving vision.
Talk with your eye doctor about your symptoms and ask about these new Avulux migraine glasses.
