David Wallace Gillispie

David Wallace Gillispie, 58, of Reedsville, passed away, Friday, August 14, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born in Kingwood, on April 17, 1968, a son of the late Joseph R Gillispie and Melva D. Ervin Gillispie of Kingwood.

David was a 1986 graduate of Morgantown High School. He was machinist, gunsmith and cabinet maker. He worked with his brother at MBC Woodshop. He attended the Colorado School of Trades and received an associate's degree in gunsmithing. He owned and operated Gillispie Gunsmithing. He loved to competitive shoot and was a National Silhouette Champion. He loved to hunt, especially with his wife. They also loved spending time with each other at their home with his "girls".

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carolyn McCrobie Gillispie; his beloved beagles, Emmylou and Clara Bell; his brother, Timothy F. Gillispie and Melissa of Reedsville; his twin sister, Katherine Marie Crim and James of Clarksburg; three nephews, James Michael "Mick" Crim, Frederick Scott Dixon and Tyler Ray Dixon; a niece, Abagail Chidester; an uncle, Michael Eugene Ervin and Steph of Alaska; father and mother-in-law, Jack McCrobie and Sharon; two brothers in law, Virgil McCrobie and Dawn and Earl McCrobie and Katrinka; many nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph R Gillispie.

To honor his wishes, he will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Cremation services have been entrusted to the Field Funeral Home in Masontown.
