Claude Beck, 97, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026, with his children by his side. Claude was born July 20, 1929, a son to the late Claude Beck, Sr. and Marcella Beck.
Claude was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Claude worked at the Toledo Blade, where he started during high school writing obituaries. He later became a printer and retired as an IT specialist.
After retirement, Claude and his wife, Pat, moved around the country, living in Pahrump, Nev.; Petoskey, Mich.; Littleton, Colo.; and Morgantown.
After retiring, Claude and Pat enjoyed traveling around the country and spending time with their grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Beck; and all of his siblings.
Claude is survived by his daughter, Julie Beck; son, Robert Beck (Nancy); and grandchildren, Robert Beck, Jr., Rachel Beck, and Erica Beck.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, in Claude's name.
Friends may gather at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Morgantown Friday, August 21, from 10 until 11 a.m., when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held, with Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati as celebrant. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. at the WV National Cemetery, Pruntytown, with full military honors conferred by the Taylor County Honor Guard and WVANG, Camp Dawson, after the funeral luncheon at the church.
