Paul Lawrence Frum, 87, of Morgantown, peacefully went to his eternal home Wednesday, August 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, who cared for him at home. The family takes comfort in knowing he now rests in peace, reunited with loved ones and embraced by God's love. Paul lived with integrity, humility, and a servant's heart!
Paul was born December 24, 1938, a son of the late Paul Hamilton Frum and Lucille Frum Moore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Dorinzi (Raymond), Louise Permar; and his father- and mother-in-law, Dorsey and Iona Rose.
He graduated from Morgantown High School in 1957 and joined the U.S. Navy. During his time with the Navy he became a machinist assigned to the destroyer USS Arnold J. Isbell in San Diego, Calif. While serving aboard the USS Arnold J. Isbell, Paul made two trips to Japan. Paul loved working with precision tools.
After honorably serving in the Navy, he came back to Morgantown still working as a machinist in many local shops using his skills of accuracy and precision. Later he went to work for WVU Engineering Department, where he worked with students and professors. He built many tables for strain gauges to test concrete to be used in roads and bridges around the country. He also tested a lot of concrete in the beginning stages of the PRT.
Paul learned to play bass guitar, and sang with the gospel group Happy Timers, sharing the good news of the gospel to many churches around the Morgantown area for 20 years.
A gentleman of faith, he trusted in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and lived his life guided by that faith. He loved God, his family, and the USA.
He married Donna Frum, the love of his life, and in May of 2026 they celebrated 68 years together. After retirement they were blessed to spend 24 winters in Florida enjoying their love of gospel music, Christian friends, and loving church. When they were in Florida they attended Indian Rocks Church. When they were in Morgantown, they faithfully attended Kingdom: A Community Church.
In addition to his beloved wife, Donna, Paul is survived by his son, Michael Frum; his daughter, Terri Frum; his grandchildren, Beth Lyons (Chris), Josh Yarris (Ashley); and great-grandchildren, Gaige Lord-Barr (Keaton), Marley Yarris, Fiona Yarris, Jackson Lyons, Riley Lyons, Wyatt Lyons; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather in the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Monday, August 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. and again Tuesday, August 18, from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Following the funeral, Paul will be laid to rest at Lawnwood Cemetery, with full military honors.
