Breaking and entering, DUI charge
John Michael Matlick, 48, of Tunnelton, was arrested on breaking and entering and DUI charges.
A state police trooper assisting the Preston County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alleged breaking and entering in progress in Tunnelton on Saturday. The trooper pulled over a green and tan step-side 2000s model Ford F-150 on Borgam Road that was being driven by Matlick who was fleeing the scene.
The stolen items were found in the truck bed, and Matlick's license was revoked at the time of the arrest due to a previous DUI arrest, a SRO DUI 3rd Felony Offense.
Stalking charge
Ryan Hovatter, 34, of Reedsville, was arrested Saturday for alleging stalking his ex-girlfriend, Brittany Baker, at her residence in Kingwood. The victim reported Hovatter driving past her residence at least three times over two months. The state police trooper also observed numerous text messages sent from Hovatter to Baker after he was asked to stop.
Baker reported that she was in fear of her "personal safety, the safety of others and has suffered substantial emotional distress."
