Kim Roger LaBarge, 65, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
He was born January 9, 1961, in Albany, New York, a son of the late Leo R. LaBarge and Marion L. Bushman Villano.
Kim is survived by his devoted wife, Tammy LaBarge; his beloved son, Ian LaBarge; his sisters, Candice A. LaBarge Downs of Northville, N.Y. and Freda C. Hernandez of Schenectady, N.Y.; his brother, Karl E. LaBarge of Unadilla, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Sherri Lowther (Jeremy Culpepper) and Melody E. Grugin; brother-in-law, John M. (Melody) George II; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Finn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Thomas E. Villano, Patrick Dugan and Timothy W. Dugan; his sister, Barbara Jean Simpson; and sister-in-law, Terri S. Rice.
Prior to coming to West Virginia, Kim lived and worked in New York, where he was involved in the development of emerging fiber-optic technology and held several patents related to his work. After settling in the Morgantown area, he worked in property maintenance for several local properties, most recently serving the Black Bear community.
Kim was exceptionally handy and could fix, build, or figure out just about anything. He enjoyed woodworking and crafting projects, and was known as a good neighbor who was always willing to lend a hand. He also loved nature and especially enjoyed fishing the lakes, rivers, and streams of West Virginia.
Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Morgantown, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 10. Visitation will continue from noon until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, with The Reverend John Brosky officiating.
