Red Bull Chariot Race coming to downtown Morgantown

2 min read

MORGANTOWN – The Red Bull Chariot Race is rolling into Morgantown on Oct. 24, bringing one of the nation's most unique amateur racing events to the heart of downtown.

The all-day event will challenge teams to design, build and race custom-made, non-motorized chariots through a specially designed course on High Street. Event activities will be held on High Street between Willey Street and Walnut Street, with additional use of Fayette Street from Spruce Street to the parking lots on Chestnut Street.

The Red Bull Chariot Race invites teams to build the wildest rides possible and compete for prizes, bragging rights and the title of champion.

Teams of four can apply by submitting a team name and a sketch of their proposed chariot design. Each member of the Team must be at least eighteen (18) at the time of applying. Selected teams will then have the opportunity to construct their chariot and race against other competitors in front of spectators from across the region.

Winning teams will receive the following prizes:

First Place: $1,500 and 60 cases of 8.4-ounce Red Bull Energy Drink

Second Place: One-of-a-kind Red Bull Experience

Third Place: Red Bull Party Experience

Prospective participants do not need engineering or fabrication experience to enter. Selected teams will receive a gift card and access to a build consultant who can help bring their vision to life.
