New WVU Medicine Community Pharmacy opens in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN - The WVUH Community Pharmacy at Suncrest officially opened its doors Monday, bringing expanded access and full-service care to the local community. Located on the first floor of the Peak Health Building in Morgantown, WVU Medicine's newest Community Pharmacy serves residents, patients, students and WVU Medicine employees.
"Caring for our patients doesn't stop when they leave our hospitals," Matthew Bailey, Pharm.D., director of WVU Medicine Retail Pharmacy Operations, said. "It carries over to our community, and I'm excited to open our newest Community Pharmacy that shares our commitment to serving patients by providing personalized care that includes prescription fills, immunizations, and compliance packaging with a convenient drive-thru for pickup."
As part of the WVU Medicine Community Pharmacy network, the Suncrest pharmacy staff works directly with providers through a shared medical record. This connected approach speeds up refills, medication questions, and insurance approvals to ensure seamless, safe patient care.
"Our team is excited to bring personalized, convenient pharmacy services to the local community and beyond," Amber Mayfield, Pharm.D., WVUH Community Pharmacy at Suncrest pharmacy manager, said. "We look forward to serving our patients by providing immunizations, medication management, delivery, and compliance packaging options in a state-of-the-art, centrally located facility."
Services at the new Suncrest location include:
— Pharmacy and wellness services, such as prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and immunizations
— Convenient pickup options, including drive-thru service and MyWVUChart notifications when prescriptions are ready
— Medication management through automatic refills, medication synchronization, and specialized therapy support to reduce side effects
— Presorted, customized packets labeled by date and time to help patients safely organize their medications
— Mail order pharmacy services and acceptance of most major insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Peak Health
The WVUH Community Pharmacy at Suncrest is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
