Earl Daniel Cress, 73, of Gladesville, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in his residence. He was born March 25, 1953, in Morgantown, the son of the late Lyman Webster and Bessie Myrtle Lewis Cress.
Earl graduated from Bruceton High School.
He worked as a service technician for American Home before retiring.
Earl enjoyed fishing, was always working, and loved spending time with family.
He is survived by four stepchildren, Harry Eugene DeBerry and Kelly of Strongville, Ohio, Dean Michael DeBerry and Tonya of Cleveland, Ohio, Patricia Faye Shanenberger of Reedsville, Darvin Welch DeBerry of Morgantown; nine stepgrandchildren, Amy, Aaron, Katherine, Brandon, Troy, Charles, Conner, Alex and Taylor; along with 10 stepgreat- grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Teresa DeBerry of Cleveland; one special niece, Tracey Lynn Jones; and several additional nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Elizabeth Lee Cress; two stepsons, Marvin Russell DeBerry and Patrick Eugene DeBerry; three brothers and four sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, August 15, at Gladesville Cemetery.
Bolyard Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the cremation and is honored to serve the Cress family.
