Susan Riddle leaving CVB to become CEO of Mylan Park

MORGANTOWN – After nearly a decade leading the Visit Mountaineer Country Convention & Visitors Bureau, President & CEO Susan Riddle is moving on.

Moving on, but not moving far.

Riddle has been named the Chief Executive Officer of Mylan Park.

A joint release from Mylan Park and Visit Mountaineer Country called the move a “strategic leadership transition that positions both Visit Mountaineer Country and Mylan Park for continued growth while strengthening north-central West Virginia’s visitor economy.”

“Visit Mountaineer Country has truly been my dream job, and accepting this opportunity was not a decision I made lightly,” Riddle said. “I’ve had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team, board members, and tourism partners to elevate our destination. Tourism is one of the most powerful economic drivers for our communities, and I’m honored to continue serving Mountaineer Country by leading, second to WVU, the largest tourism asset that attracted more than 1.4 million unique guests in 2025.”

The release claims Riddle’s history with Mylan Park uniquely positions her to lead its next chapter. She is currently the treasurer of its board of directors and has worked closely with the organization throughout her tenure at Visit Mountaineer Country.

“Susan understands Mylan Park because she’s helped shape its success,” Mylan Park Foundation Board Chair Craig Walker said. “She has been a trusted partner, a thoughtful leader, and a passionate advocate for tourism throughout north-central West Virginia and is uniquely qualified to lead Mylan Park. As the Park continues to grow as a premier sports, recreation and entertainment destination, we’re eager to welcome a leader who intimately understands our mission and has already been instrumental in helping advance it.”

Riddle will step into the position held by Ron Justice since January 2025.

Walker notes Justice’s efforts to bring the KOA Campground and the Hope Gas Ice Pavilion into the park and says Justice will continue to coordinate capital projects and business relationships through an extension of his consulting agreement.

Visit Mountaineer Country Chair Terry Jackson said the CVB’s board will announce its plans to find Riddle’s replacement in the coming weeks.

“Susan has helped transform Visit Mountaineer Country into one of West Virginia’s most respected destination marketing organizations. While we are sad to see her leave the CVB, we’re thrilled she’ll continue serving our region in this important new role,” Jackson said.

According to the release, the leadership transition reflects the longstanding partnership between Visit Mountaineer Country and Mylan Park. As the region’s official destination marketing organization and one of its premier tourism assets, noting, “The two organizations have worked side by side for years to attract visitors, generate overnight stays, strengthen local businesses, and drive economic impact throughout north-central West Virginia.”
