WVU football lands first commitment for the 2028 class

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia football has started to add commitments for the 2028 class. Highly recruited 2028 linebacker Brandon Wills-Dickson announced on social media that he committed to the Mountaineers. He is the first commit for WVU’s 2028 class.

Wills-Dickson picked WVU over a couple of Power Four schools. The Baltimore, Maryland, native committed to the Mountaineers over Florida State, Oregon, Nebraska and South Carolina, to name a few. Wills-Dickson visited WVU on June 1 and quickly committed after that trip to Morgantown.

Wills-Dickson is a big linebacker for a junior at 6-foot 224 pounds, but his size doesn’t slow him down. He can play multiple linebacker positions, making him a versatile option in the future.

Rich Rodriguez and WVU are getting a jump on the future of the program. The Mountaineers had some early commits for the 2027 class, but had decommitments, setting up for a later start. WVU has 13 members for the 2027 class now, and added one earlier in the day.
