MORGANTOWN — West Virginia football earned a commitment from a highly sought-after 3-star pass rusher Tuesday afternoon. Trevoris “T.J.” Finley from Opa Locka, Florida, announced his commitment to the Mountaineers after confirming a report from On3. Finley had multiple Power Four offers, including but not limited to Miami, Georgia Tech, Boston College, SMU and Pitt.
Finley is a big, physical defensive lineman standing at 6-foot-3, 240 pounds, but still has the speed off the edge. He finished his junior year at Chamiande-Madonna Prep with 83 tackles (27 TFL), 16 sacks and one PBU. Finley transferred to Miami Carol City for his senior season.
After a productive junior campaign, he landed on the radar of multiple Power Four schools. Finley is rated as the consensus 81st pass rusher in the class and 103rd player in the state of Florida.
Finley becomes the 11th commitment for WVU’s 2027 class, and the first pass rusher. The Mountaineers do have another defensive lineman, DaJour Webb, who is also from Florida. WVU’s next recruiting class is pretty defensive-heavy, but there’s still a lot of time to add some more prospects. The Mountaineers have a top 25 recruiting class in the country so far.
